The Old School House is a bright, traditional Cornish cottage with fresh, light décor and plenty of character. Set in the peaceful village of Goldsithney, it’s a few minutes’ drive from Perranuthnoe beach and 1.5 miles from Marazion, putting some of Cornwall’s most picturesque scenery within easy reach.
Inside, there’s generous space with separate living room, dining room and kitchen, plus two double bedrooms, two shower rooms, and an enclosed garden with patio. Enter via a side wrought-iron gate to an internal porch/utility with washing machine—handy for storing shoes, jackets and beach gear. A convenient ground-floor shower room (large enclosure, basin, WC) sits beside the utility. The living room is sunny and relaxing with two large sofas and a TV. The well-equipped kitchen includes a double oven and ceramic hob, fridge-freezer, dishwasher, toaster, microwave and kettle. At the heart of the house, the dining room seats four comfortably.
Upstairs are two light, airy doubles with good storage; the master enjoys lovely countryside views—perfect for morning tea in bed. The first-floor bathroom has a shower enclosure, basin and WC.
Outside, the main garden offers a large patio with table and chairs for alfresco dining and a fully enclosed lawned area (ideal for pets). A smaller separate patio sits off the kitchen. Parking is on a small driveway for one small/medium car; larger or additional cars can use on-street parking.
Goldsithney is a conservation village with two pubs, a shop and a post office within an easy walk. Nearby beaches include Perranuthnoe, Prussia Cove, Praa Sands and Rinsey (all within about 10 minutes’ drive). Marazion offers a lovely waterfront, cafés and shops; don’t miss St Michael’s Mount, reached on foot at low tide or by passenger ferry at high tide. West along the coast are Penzance, Mousehole’s sheltered harbour, and the cliff-top Minack Theatre; east is Porthleven, increasingly popular with great places to eat. The north coast is also close: St Ives is roughly 10 miles away with restaurants, galleries and golden beaches.
