Enjoy a delightful cabin stay at Highmoor Farmhouse, sleeping up to four guests (plus one additional child). Reminiscent of the old clinker boats that coastal communities have used to store tools and nets, most notably on Northumberland’s own Lindisfarne Island, the glamping cabins are designed to resemble upturned fishing boats – but with all the home comforts that have created a beautiful all-season living space.
Highmoor Farmhouse cabin is positioned nearest to the bank of Langley Dam, providing unhindered views of the beautiful fishing lake. This cabin sleeps up to four adults, or up to four adults and one child under 12 years old. The fixed kingsize bed has a comfortable mattress. This sleeping area can be curtained off from the rest of the living space, which includes a kingsize double sofa bed.
The kitchenette is equipped with a sink, kettle, toaster, fridge with small icebox compartment, double ceramic hob, and an electric oven with a grill. There is a drop leaf table with folding chairs for dining. The cabin is heated by an electric heater, and each cabin has a 28” smart TV with DVD player and WiFi.
The en-suite shower room features a flushing toilet, shower, sink, and shaver socket.
The private decking at the front of the cabin leads down to your own gravelled area, where seating is provided around a firepit/BBQ, allowing you to enjoy long evenings by the fire with fantastic views.
In all cabins, we provide bird-spotting and stargazing guides as well as OS Explorer maps of the area to make the most of local wildlife, stars, and walking routes. Six cabins are available on site: Highmoor Farmhouse, The Orchard Retreat, The Dovecote, The Nook at Woodland, Hillrise Lodge, and The Granary Rest.
We also have a children’s play area on site for our guests to enjoy. This is suitable for children between approximately 3 and 12 years old. It has been designed and built by Langley Furniture Works and follows our nautical theme – the play area includes a cargo net, slide, balance beams, small boat, and raised boat platform for imaginative pirate play!
